Day 2

Seeduwa To Pinnawala To Kandy

Today will drive to Pinnawela where you will visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975 with seven orphan elephants. Today it is home to roughly 60 elephants. Pinnawela started as captive-breeding program for elephants with an aim of conservation and with the help of local and foreign elephant experts it became a success. Here you can view the feeding and bathing of the elephants. This is one place you will never forget! After lunch drive to Kandy, the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea, making it one of the most scenic cities in Sri Lanka. Here you will visit The Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most respected places for the Buddhist community of Sri Lanka. Visit the town of Kandy and its bazaar, as well as the arts and crafts center, a gem museum and a lapidary to see artists form stones into decorative items.

Day 3

Kandy To Peradeniya and Tea Plantation to Nuwara Eliya

Today visit the Royal Botanical Garden Peradeniya, a 60-hectare (147 acre) garden which is the largest in Sri Lanka. These gardens are renowned for its collection of as of orchids which includes more than 300 varieties of orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palms trees. You will also visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the some of the best tea in the world is produced. You will have a chance to learn about the process of manufacturing and grading tea as well as taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea. Continue to the mountain station of Nuwara Eliya. Set an elevation of 6200 feet, it is the highest mountain in Sri Lanka

Day 4

Nuwara Eliya To Ella To Yala To Tissamaharama

This morning drive to Ella, a small village in the mountains. Explore the area and then proceed to Tissamaharama one of the most pleasant towns in the southern coast. The beautiful man-made tank (reservoir) in Tissa Wewa with its remarkable bird life provides the scenic backdrop to the town.

Day 5

Tissamaharama To Yala To Galle and Mount Lavinia

Today embark on a jeep safari at Yala National Park. Yala is the most visited national park in Sri Lanka and covers 979 square kms. It was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900. It is famous for its large variety of wild animals, the conservation of the Sri Lankan Elephants and aquatic birds, as well as having the highest leopard densities in the world. Elephants are the most often-spotted inhabitants of the vast Yala National Park, but you can also see numerous species of birds, sambhur, spotted deer, sloths, crocodiles, monkeys, wild boar, and porcupines. Afterwards, continue to Galle, the capital city of the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. Galle is the best example of a fortified city built by the Europeans in Southeast Asia and displays the unique blend between European architectural styles and south Asian traditions. Other prominent landmarks in Galle include the natural harbour, the National Maritime Museum, St. Mary's Cathedral founded by Jesuit priest, one of the main Shiva temples on the island, and Amangalla the historic luxury hotel. Proceed to Galle Dutch Fort, situated along the Palm fringed coastline. This Fort is an UNESCO World Heritage site containing an amazing collection of architectural structures dating back to the 1600's when the Dutch first began building. Later, proceed to your hotel in mount Lavinia; a coastal town famed for its "Golden Mile" of beaches.
